Our products
The proliferation of electronic databases has allowed researchers and analysts to address complex questions by
linking records from different sources. But merging data from multiple databases brings major integration issues.
For example, company identifiers are often missing or erroneous and company names are written in multiple ways
(e.g., IBM / International Business Machines / Int'l. Bus. Mach.). Legal endings of company names are also often
written differently (e.g., Incorporated, Limited, Corporation / Inc., Ltd., Corp.) or missing altogether.
Our main product, DataMatch Tool™ utilizes a powerful algorithm to link data from different sources easily and
quickly. Fuzzy match technology is used to consider misspellings or possible spelling variations as valid matches.
Three sets of libraries—noise, predefined matches and synonyms—can be customized to enhance the matching
process. DataMatch Tool™ learns from previous matches, so the more you use it the more powerful it becomes.
With this intelligent, customizable software, users in all fields can save considerable time and effort when merging
data.
DateMatch™ is designed to make exact or relative date matches. This add-in is useful for retrieving data close to
a specific date. For instance, a researcher might want to measure the stock market reaction a few days or weeks
before or after a company announcement such as a merger, or to retrieve data from past or subsequent financial
reports. DateMatch™ allows one to do so in just a few steps.
DataCODE™ uses the core capabilities of DataMatch Tool™ to Clean, Organize and DEduplicate a list of items. The
first feature—Clean—deletes all previously identified noise within the list. The second feature—Organize—gathers
similar items together based on fuzzy matching. The last feature—Deduplicate—removes all duplicates to produce a
list of unique entries. This refined list can then be used directly, or as an input to DataMatch Tool™.
